Realistic Fat Loss Tips That Actually Work (Busy Mom Edition)
For the longest time, I felt like I was doing everything right… working out consistently, trying to eat better, staying active — and still not seeing the results I expected.
Honestly, it was frustrating.
What I started to realize is that fat loss in your late 30s just hits different. What used to work doesn’t always work the same anymore, especially when you’re balancing work, kids, and a full schedule.
Here are a few things that actually started to make a difference for me:
1. Focusing on protein
I wasn’t eating nearly enough protein. Once I started prioritizing it at every meal, I felt more full and noticed better results.
2. Keeping things simple
Instead of overcomplicating meals, I stuck to easy, repeatable foods. This made it way easier to stay consistent during busy weeks.
3. Not overdoing workouts
I used to think more was better. Now I focus on quality workouts and getting steps in, instead of trying to do everything.
4. Having a plan to follow
This was the biggest shift. I stopped guessing and followed a more structured approach, which helped me stay on track without overthinking everything.
If you’re feeling stuck or like nothing is working, you’re definitely not alone. Sometimes it just takes simplifying things and having a plan that actually fits your lifestyle.
Here’s a simple example of what I eat in a day:
Breakfast: yogurt + protein + banana
Snack: rice cakes + peanut butter
Lunch: chicken + veggies
Dinner: simple protein + carb
I realized I needed more structure, so I started following something that simplified this for me.
